Austin 2nd Best City In U.S. For Women Entrepreneurs

In 2016, 6.05 percent of businesses were formed within the previous three years and 22.75 percent were female-owned.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin-Round Rock metro area is the second best in the nation for women entrepreneurs, according to a new study.

Both new businesses and women-owned businesses are relatively common in the Austin metro area, the SmartAsset study found. In 2016, 6.05 percent of businesses were formed within the previous three years and 22.75 percent of businesses were owned by women. Austin-Round Rock ranks fifth highest and sixth highest, respectively, in those two metrics.
