Austin Animal Center Waiving Adoption Fees For Cats

More than 300 cats/kittens already spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped awaiting a forever home.

AUSTIN, TX — This could be the purrfect time to get a cat.

According to Austin Animal Center officials, their cat cages are filled to capacity. This has prompted them to waive adoption fees for all cats and kittens until Monday.

More than 300 cats are waiting for a forever home, officials said.

“Right now, we have the best selection of cats and kittens of any time of the year," interim Chief Animal Services Officer Lee Ann Shenefiel said in a prepared statement. "If you’re looking for a certain age or color, or even a special type like a Siamese or Blue Russian, now’s the time you can find it."

In adopting a feline, you'd be saving some $300 or more. That's because not only would you be saving on adoption fees, but these little kitties are already spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
