Austin Area Could See Rain This Week
There's a chance for rain every day this week, with the greatest chance coming on Friday night at 60 percent probability.

AUSTIN, TX — With just one day left to go in May, the month seems determined to do its best to ensure May flowers. Isolated showers are expected throughout the week, so you might want to keep the umbrella handy.
After a Sunday that saw temperatures reach into the high 80s, this week will be marked by intermittent rainfall with the greatest chances for precipitation forecast for Friday night.
Monday night will bring a 20 percent of showers to the Austin area, according to the National Weather Service. The low will dip to around 67 degrees tonight with south-to-southeast winds between ten miles per hour and 15 miles per hour.

The same percentage forecast for rain will come by Tuesday under mostly cloudy conditions with a high near 82 degrees. The low on Tuesday is expected to be 70 degrees. Wednesday's chances for rain seem to diminish by Wednesday, with forecasters writing of a "slight chance" possible with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. It will be mostly cloud with a high temperature near 87 degrees. Wind gusts are expected to be as high as 20 miles per hour.
Chances for rain increase by Thursday. During the day, there will be a 40 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms under cloudy skies. The high temperature is expected to reach 86 degrees. Those chances grow to 50 percent by nightfall with a low of around 68 degrees.

Chances of rain lessen by Friday, with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The day will be cloudy with a high near 82 degrees and nearly negligible winds at five miles per hour. Showers and thunderstorms are likely by Friday night under mostly cloudy skies and a low of around 64 degrees, according to forecasters. Chances for precipitation on Friday night are 60 percent, forecasters say.
By Saturday, some 40 percent of the area will likely see showers and thunderstorms. It'll be mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Chances for rain fall precipitously to a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Forecasters say it will be mostly cloudy Saturday night with a low of 61 degrees.
Peeking into next week, Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 81 degrees.
