Austin-Based Rooster Teeth Adds Popular Podcast To Roster
Not for the faint of heart, The Last Podcast on the Left 'laughs into the abyss that is the dark side of humanity,' officials described.

AUSTIN, TX — Officials of Austin-based announced this week the addition of one of the nation's most popular podcasts to its network, The Roost.
The local media and entertainment company added "The Last Podcast on the Left" to its roster, officials said in a press advisory. With more than a million weekly downloads, The Last Podcast on the Left is one of the most popular podcasts in the country. Hosted by Ben Kissel, Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski, The Last Podcast on the Left covers dark subjects spanning Jeffrey Dahmer, werewolves, Jonestown, iconic hauntings, the history of war crimes, and more.
Simply stated: Whether it's cults, killers, or cryptid encounters, The Last Podcast on the Left "...laughs into the abyss that is the dark side of humanity," Rooster Teeth officials described. Definitely not a podcast for the faint of heart. If you're given to saying "Oh, I do declare I'm getting the vapors!" at the hint of anything disagreeable or haunting, this immensely popular podcast might not be for you. But's its fans are legion.

The addition of the podcast further highlights the continued — and impressively brisk — growth of the homegrown media and entertainment company with the curious name of Rooster Teeth since its 2003 launch. The pioneering media and entertainment company is responsible for some of the biggest online series in history, such as the award-winning and longest-running web series, Red vs. Blue. They also produce the globally acclaimed animated series RWBY, the first western anime series to be distributed in Japan; the award-winning Rooster Teeth Podcast; and Immersion, a reality format that brings video game theory to the real world.
Rooster Teeth now has a massive global footprint of more than 45 million subscribers to its YouTube Network, five million unique monthly visitors to its RoosterTeeth.com hub and three million registered community members. The company is now a subsidiary of Otter Media, a joint venture between AT&T and The Chernin Group. Find out more at Discover more at RoosterTeeth.com.

As for The Roost, officials said it's doubled in size since its launch a mere year ago. The platform brings together the Internet's personality-driven podcasts closer to the audiences with tailored branding specifically resonant to its targeted demographics. Among those podcasting coming home to roost on the platform (sorry) are The H3 Podcast, flagship programming from award winning comedy studio JASH (Getting Doug With High), Tiny Meat Gang (hosted by Cody Ko) and ex-Sourcefed-hosted The Valleyfolk podcasts along with the award-winning Rooster Teeth Podcast, Always Open and other Rooster Teeth podcasts.
“We launched The Roost Podcast Network last year to be a boutique, partner oriented network with an emphasis on old school, personalized service,” Alan Abdine, Rooster Teeth’s SVP of Business Development, said. “Our focus has always been to identify the very best personality driven audio and video podcasts that can fully leverage the sales, e-commerce, live events, video production, and distribution expertise that Rooster Teeth has mastered over the past 15 years. We couldn’t be happier to have The Last Podcast on the Left join our team. Ben, Marcus, and Henry bring the type of fun and irreverent attitude that makes their top five show a must-listen every week. We can’t wait to connect them to our millions of worldwide community members and further fuel their incredible growth.”
