🌱 Austin Cat Sitters To The Rescue + The Pitch In Austin + TxDOT
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Austin.

Morning, people of Austin! Gabriela Couvillion here with today's issue of the Austin Daily.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and warm. High: 76 Low: 58.
Here are the top three stories in Austin today:
- During last year's winter storm, Evelyn Shields and Vanessa Roy, co-owners of Austin Cat Sitters, "sprang into action to connect with more than 30 cats in need of food, water and other care." Before the storm, they had purchased a 4-wheel-drive Jeep, and during the storm they used it to travel "as far north as Lakeline Mall down south to Slaughter Lane" to check on the animals. Shields said, "I visited a kitty whose water bowl was frozen over, which was very clear how cold it was in that house for it to freeze on the inside." Roy "visited homes within walking distance of their house and grabbed as many blankets and towels as they could find for the cats to curl up in." Since then, they have updated their business' "safety and emergency preparedness measures" in case of future winter storms. For more on the business, visit: (KXAN.com)
- On Friday, Feb. 11, a "new park with a soccer field and a bunch of restaurants" called The Pitch opened up at 13000 Harris Ridge Boulevard. "The Pitch is part of the Parmer Austin business park, developed by investment firm Karlin Real Estate and designed by Mark Odom Studio and STG Design. It's right next to David's Performance Center, which the city's soccer team uses as its training facility." The park's restaurants are Ranger Burger, Ga Tori and Taco Flats. There are also two bars called San Bar and Corner Kick Bar. In addition, there is "a coffee shop and bakery called Coffee Club. (Eater Austin)
- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), along with U.S. Representative John Carter, Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell and Commissioner Valerie Covey, recently held "a joint ribbon cutting ceremony for the I-35 at Ronald Reagan Boulevard and I-35 from Corn Hill to FM 972 projects which cost $12.3 million.
