AUSTIN, TX — File this one under the YOLO file.
There are just two days left to try the $100 margarita at Austin's two Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. You read that right: It's $100. But what a cocktail! The upscale steakhouse partnered with Tequila Ocho, an ultra-premium single estate & single vintage tequila, and Baccarat, the world-renowned fine crystal manufacturer to offer the pricey drink from May 1-31.
So what exactly goes into the making of such liquid ambition? iGlad you asked. It's handcrafted with ultimate premium liquors, including Tequila Ocho Extra Añejo La Latilla and Grand Marnier Cuvee du Centenaire with a lime-wheel-and-pineapple-leaves garnish. Añejo is the Spanish word for aged. The drink is served in Baccarat's uniquely designed Diamant Tumbler that guests get to take home in an an iconic, red Baccarat's box.

Patch saw this holy grail of margaritas personally, and was offered a sample. It's as good as billed, yielding an imbibing experience heightened in sensory intake given its inherent decadence. The quiet elegant ambiance of the downtown restaurant and an accompanying steak meal served to enhance the unique culinary experience even further.

It's a true "you only live once" (YOLO) thing to do, as the kids are fond of saying. The special margarita is available at both Flemings locations, 11600 Century Oaks Terrace and 320 E. 2nd St. until May 31.
If you can't make it out, here's the recipe to try at home. But the experience won't be the same, and you won't get the Baccarat souvenir tumbler to take home.
