Austin Community College Events: March 9-15, 2020
From the Applied Tech Open House to information on scholarship aailability, much is happening at the college district ahead of Spring Break.
AUSTIN, TX — Austin Community College is hosting a series of community events March 9-15.
The events include:
- Fill out one application by April 1 to get priority consideration to hundreds of scholarships: Current and prospective students have until Friday, April 1, to fill out the General Scholarship Application to receive priority consideration for getting financial assistance. The General Scholarship Application allows students to access hundreds of opportunities in one location. Last year, the average ACC scholarship recipient received $2,000. Extra 1-on-1 support will be provided every Monday this month at Scholarship Stations located at ACCelerators on the Highland, Round Rock, and San Gabriel campuses.
- Hands-on demonstrations for high-skilled careers: Registration now open for the 10th annual Applied Tech Open House 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 3, at Austin Community College Round Rock Campus (4400 College Park Drive). Careers in skilled professions are expected to be one of the largest industry sectors to add the most number of jobs over the next 10 years. Visitors will tour the college’s state-of-the-art facilities, view live demonstrations, test their skills on advanced technologies, and network with major-industry companies in Austin. - Austin Community College Board of Trustees Regular Board Meeting: The Austin Community College Board of Trustees hosts its regular meeting 3 p.m., Monday, March 9, at the Highland Business Center, Room 201 (5930 Middle Fiskville Rd.). The meeting is open to the community and is available live via webstream.
- Austin Community College will be closed for Spring Break from Monday, March 16, through Sunday, March 22. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, March 23.
