Austin Community College Fall Registration Now Open
New associate degrees and expanded flexible options launched for classes starting on Monday, Aug. 26.
AUSTIN, TX — Fall registration at Austin Community College is now under way.
In announcing the start of fall registration, school officials also unveiled new associate degrees and expanded flexible options: “It is increasingly important we create more pathways for students to take the next step in their education and careers because college is for everyone,” Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO, said in a prepared statement. “We take immense pride in providing the right types of post-secondary credentials and training to help our community skill-up.”
Online, evening, and weekend programs are available to better meet the needs of students with busy family and work schedules, ACC officials added. The college also offers additional support services for online and distance education students including a new online tutoring service to help reach students with limited access to campus, officials added.

NEW PROGRAMS AND DEGREES
This fall, the college offers new evening and weekend programs and degrees in high-demand careers in health sciences and the creative arts industry.

- Vocational Nursing Program: The current program expands to evenings and weekends to accommodate more busy schedules. The program is five semesters and includes online options.
- Associate of Applied Science in Fashion Design: Students gain an understanding of how the fashion design industry operates through courses in fashion design and marketing. It prepares them for a career in the Fashion Design field.
- Associate of Technical Theater in Scenery and Lighting: Students receive industry job training and a pathway to transfer to a four-year institution. It prepares them for employment as a scenic carpenter or painter’s assistant, board operator, multimedia specialist, or audio and video equipment technician.
- Associate of Technical Theater in Costume and Makeup: The program supports students interested in a career working behind the scenes. It prepares them for a career as a makeup artist, costume attendant, craft artist, tailor, dressmaker, or custom sewer.
ACC offers 16-, 12-, and 8-week sessions. The fall course schedule is available online, with classes begin starting on Monday, Aug. 26. For information about getting started, visit austincc.edu/fall.
