From a fashion hour to a handful of open houses, college system has several key events this week. Read the list here.

AUSTIN, TX — From a fashion hour to open houses, Austin Community College (ACC) hosts a series of community events July 22 through July 28.

Events include:

  • Texas Internship Challenge: ACC President/CEO, Dr. Richard Rhodes, will share insights and challenges at the Texas Internship Challenge Monday, July 22, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Ascension Seton Eastside Auditorium (1345 Philomena St.). The event, hosted by the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Education Agency, and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to the Governor’s Office, will challenge industry and employer partners to offer more paid internships for Texas students.
  • Music Business, Performance, and Technology (MBPT) Open House: Careers in the music industry remain among the most popular and competitive in the region. Students and their families are invited to explore state-of-the-art facilities and learn about career and training opportunities Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northridge Campus, Building 4000 (11928 Stonehollow Dr.).
  • Transfer 101: New and full-time students get guidance on transfer planning and ACC support services during this two-day event. The college is ranked top in the state for university transfer, according to successfulstudent.org, with more than 65 percent of transfer students earning their bachelor’s degree within four years. The event is July 24 and 25 at ACC Highland Campus (6101 Highland Campus Dr.).
  • Fashion Hour: Fashion Incubator Director, Nina Means, hosts featured guest Rolando Rodriguez, co-founder of Trill Multicultural, for this edition of Fashion Hour. Together, Means and Rodriguez will explore fashion brand storytelling and its connection to customers, Friday, July 26, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Fashion Incubator at ACC Highland.
  • Skill-Up @ ACC: Manufacturing Open House: Earn up to $75,000 a year with a career in manufacturing. ACC hosts a Skill-Up open house Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverside Campus, Frank Squires Building (1020 Grove Blvd.) for students and the community to explore the growing field of manufacturing in Central Texas. Guests will explore job openings, meet employers looking to hire, watch live demonstrations, and learn about the training programs at ACC to get started.
