1) Local realtors claim the Austin housing market is officially cooling off. A new mid-year report from the Austin Board of Realtors shows the Autin-area housing market is returning to pre-pandemic normalcy. The report shows the following contributing factors across the Austin-Round Rock MSA:
- Rising housing inventory for the first time since November 2019
- Decline in residential home sales

2) The race for Austin's next mayor is underway. Less than four months ahead of the November election day, seven candidates have entered the mayoral race to succeed Steve Adler. The candidates include former state senator Kirk Watson, State Rep. Celia Israel, former District 10 council candidate Jennifer Virden, University of Texas student Phil Brual, and community members Anthony Bradshaw, Erica Nix, Gary Spellman. 3) AISD pushing to fill over 500 positions ahead of the 2022-23 school year. Students of Austin ISD are officially back in their classrooms on Aug. 15, and the school district is still in the middle of a recruitment spree. AISD assistant superintendent Norma Castillo said, "We have different opportunities, different incentives, that we have just newly announced… $500 sign-on incentive for teacher assistants, special ed teaching assistants receive a $1,000 incentive, and any employee hired before Sept. 1 is eligible for $2,000 retention incentive as well."

4) APD looking for information about a cold case homicide. Austin PD is seeking information in the 2013 homicide of 36-year-old Roberto Robby Reyna who was found shot to death in 2013. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible. FOX 7 Austin has more on this story here.
