Time to start planning dad's special day, and several restaurants are pulling out all the stops with special meals to make it memorable.

AUSTIN, TX — Father's Day is right around the corner on June 17, and it's time to start planning. Fortunately, several Austin-area restaurants are pulling out all the stops with special meals for the day to make dear old dad feel special — and very much loved, with both soul and body nourished — on his day.

If your dad's a regular guy — a regular Joe; no-nonsense sort of fellow; a man of few words who's the strong and silent type; or a man's man, as they say — who's perfectly content with a beer and burger, then Boiler Nine Bar + Grill is the perfect setting for his special meal. At the upcoming event appropriately dubbed Beer + a Burger, you can treat el jefe to a delicious Sunday brunch with specials he’s sure to love. On Sunday, June 17, the fire-focused restaurant will be dishing out a “Beer + a Burger” special for $15. Plus, $1 Pearl beer for all the dads. One-hour validated parking is available in the Seaholm Parking Garage.

Brix and Ale will feature a full brunch buffet on Father's Day, including such offerings as dry aged prime rib, blackened Texas redfish, oak smoked lamb chops and more. Brunch comes with a 14-ounce Rentsch draft beer. Dad will have an opportunity to chat with the brewers as Rentsch Brewery officials will be onsite pouring sample flights of their signature IPA, Hefeweizen and more. This one's for the meat-eating dads. The Capital Grille is offering an off-menu feature on Sunday, June 17, centered on a 20-ounce Wagyu Bone-In New York Strip. Available only by request, this generous offering is the perfect way to make Dad feel special on his big day, officials vowed. In addition to the classically prepared dish, raise a glass to Dad with the ideally paired Faust ‘Liberation’ Cabernet blend of Napa Valley, an exclusive wine for The Capital Grille’s guests, hand-picked by the Advanced Sommelier. Faust, "Liberation," Napa Valley has primary notes of blackberry fruit, mocha and licorice perfectly balanced by pretty aromas of potpourri and sweet vanilla from 100-percent new French oak barrels.

Two words: Free beer. On Sunday, June 17, at all COVER 3 locations (plus COVER 2), all dads will receive a complimentary draft beer or a bloody mary wrapped in a COVER 3 koozie. The bloody mary's are only available with brunch until 3 p.m., although fathers can also select their choice of any available draft beer anytime that day on the house (limited to one free drink per dad per location). But wait, as they say, there's more: All COVER 3 and COVER 2 locations will open one hour early (at 10 a.m.) that Sunday for World Cup watching when Mexico takes on Germany. Additionally, all locations will be showing Game 7 of the NBA Finals (if needed) at 7 p.m. that same night with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the Golden State Warriors. Those interested in reserving a table or booth for the games are encouraged to do so in advance by calling their preferred COVER 3 location.

This Father’s Day, District Kitchen + Cocktails is offering Dad a savory prime rib to enjoy on his special day. The prime rib will be featured alongside whiskey cocktails "crafted to perfection," officials said, including El Padrinomade with Monkey Shoulder, Dissarono and Aztec chocolate bitters and the District Old Fashioned made Highwest Double Rye, brown sugar and Angostura bitters. This year Austin residents can celebrate Dad at Eddie V’s over prime seafood and steak, while also giving him a chance to win an exceptionally unique experience: A three-day, two-night Gulf fishing adventure.

On Saturday, June 16, Spoetzl Brewery, brewer of Shiner Bock, debuts Saturday hours for the first time ever. Stiles Switch will host a Father's Day Feast on June 17 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. featuring smoked prime rib paired with cheesy tater tot casserole. Independence Brewing Co. representatives will be on hand offering samples of their new Native Texas Pilsner from noon to 2 p.m. They'll also conduct a fun interactive "Drink the Flag" challenge with guests. Moreover, the restaurant will be celebrating their inclusion in Travel Channel's Food Paradise episode, Sandwich Heroes, that will air the same day at 7 p.m. CST.
