Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference Speakers Revealed

The first batch of panelists for this year's festival in October includes writers for The Simpsons, Schitt's Creek, Chaos Walking and more.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference officials have unveiled the first batch of confirmed panelists for this year's conference scheduled in October. ]

Among those scheduled to appear at the festival are:

  • Sofia Alvarez, a playwright and screenwriter of To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
  • Megan Amram, writer/producer of The Good Place, The Simpsons, Transparent and more.
  • Lindsey Beer, writer of writer Chaos Walking, Kingkiller Chronicle, Silver & Black and other works.
  • Amy Berg, writer/executive producer Neverwhere, Broad Band, Counterpart and more.
  • Mark Bianculli, writer/executive producer Lincoln; consulting producer The Hunt.
  • Steve Conrad, writer/creator/executive producer Perpetual Grace, LTD.
  • Rupinder Gill, writer/producer Schitt's Creek, I Feel Bad.
  • Jason Headley, writer/director A Bad Idea Gone Wrong, It's Not About the Nail, more.

The event is scheduled to take place from Oct. 24-31 in downtown Austin when writers, creators and industry professionals will come together for informative panels, workshops and networking opportunities designed to give aspiring storytellers the tools needed to garner their first break in the biz. The event also lures people who simply love to hear great stories in availing themselves of inspiration suffusing the festival.
