Austin Gallery Seeking Works By Local Artists

The Julia C. Budtridge Gallery at the Dougherty Arts Center is accepting exhibit proposals for the 2021 gallery season.

AUSTIN, TX — Calling all artists: The Julia C. Budtridge Gallery at the Dougherty Arts Center is accepting exhibit proposals for the 2021 gallery season through Feb. 16.

Through a rigorous selection process involving an anonymous panel of jurors and final approval by Dougherty Arts Center management, several talented artists are chosen each gallery season to exhibit in one of multiple Julia C. Butridge Gallery exhibit spaces, officials explained in an advisory.

Located in the heart of the arts district, the Julia C. Butridge Gallery is well known for its diverse exhibitions of artists and their work. Audiences and participants of the Dougherty cross disciplines, backgrounds and levels of exposure to various arts experiences, creating a lively environment in a thriving downtown atmosphere.

"The Julia C. Butridge Gallery celebrates a wide array of artists with diverse practices and strives to promote the livelihood of Austin’s vital art culture by offering as many opportunities as possible to both emerging and established artists," officials explained. The submission process, officials added, includes an artist statement, display information, and images.

There is no fee to submit an exhibit proposal and all related exhibits and events are open to the public. Submissions are being accepted at: doughertyartscenter.submittable.com/submit.
