Austin Hotel Launches Upside Cinema With Vulcan Video

The series will take place every Thursday through December and will feature new movie themes each month, organizers said.

AUSTIN, TX — East Austin Hotel has partnered with Vulcan Video in hosting the Upside Cinema movie series this Thursday.

The series kicks off this Thursday, Sept. 5. The series will take place every Thursday through December and will feature new movie themes each month, organizers said. Projected on the outdoor patio of East Austin Hotel’s rooftop bar & lounge, The Upside, each film begins at 8:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

In addition, East Austin Hotel will offer happy hour specials all night long, which includes $2 off appetizers, $2 off house cocktails and wines by the glass, and $1 off draft beer starting at 4 p.m. at The Upside. All-night happy hour specials will also be offered at Sixth and Waller and Pool Bar starting at 3 p.m.

The Upside Cinema with Vulcan Video monthly movie themes include:

  • September – Rock ‘n’ Roll Cinema, featuring:
  • October – Multiple Maniacs, a Halloween-themed salute to the murderous maniacs!
  • November – Macho Mustached Men, a Movember tribute to the best mustaches in cinema history
  • December – Horrible Holidays

* Upside Cinema with Vulcan Video screenings will not take place on Halloween (Thursday, October 31) or Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28).

All-Night Happy Hour on Thursdays: Thursdays starting at 4 p.m. at The Upside; starting at 3 p.m. at Sixth and Waller and Pool Bar
