Austin Ice Cream Parlor Listed Among Nation's Best

AUSTIN, TX — Summer's here, and it's time to think about ice cream. And in so doing, you might want to consider Lick Honest Ice Creams, which, according to one survey, is among the nation's 33 best ice cream parlors.

The website Thrillist recently compiled its list of the best ice cream shops in the country, including Lick Honest Ice Creams in its list. No small feat, mind you, as there is some really outstanding ice cream out there.

"You can get traditional flavors like vanilla bean and salted caramel almost anywhere, but seldom are they as good as the dense, eggless, brown rice-sweetened varieties at this Austin emporium," researchers wrote. "For the adventurous, there are insane concoctions like goat cheese, thyme & honey and roasted beet on offer, which work alarmingly well. Still, when you have one of the best mint ice creams in the world in the freezer alongside everything else, it’s tempting to play it safe. But, hey, that’s what sampling is for."

There are three Lick Honest Ice Creams in Austin at 6555 Burnet Rd., 1100 S Lamar Blvd. and 1905 Aldrich St. There's another location in Cedar Park at 2000 Windy Terrace. A fifth location is in San Antonio at 312 Pearl Parkway.
