Austin Included In Chick-fil-A Cookies Recall For Undeclared Peanut Allergens

Consumers with peanut allergies are strongly urged to discard any Chocolate Chunk cookies they bought or bring them in for full refund.

AUSTIN, TX -- Officials at Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A said they've pulled their Chocolate Chunk Cookies off shelves after detecting they might contain undeclared peanut allergens.

The cookies' supplier, CSM Bakery Solutions, undertook a voluntary cookie recall, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper and numerous other media outlets.

Officials at Chick-fil-A are said to have decided to pull the cookies because they are advertised as peanut-free. Officials at the restaurant chaing said they will keep the cookies off their menu until the issue is resolved.

Customers with peanut allergies are urged to discard any purchased cookies or return them to their Chick-fil-A location for a full refund.

Chick-fil-A operates some 20 restaurants in Austin, including locations on Martin Luther King Boulevard, on 24th Street just off the University of Texas, Ben White Boulevard, Barton Creek Square, and others.
