Austin Liquid Nitrogen Cooled Ice Cream Shop Closes

Spun Ice Cream closes after four years in East Austin, but the concoction will live on through catering and retail avenues.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — After four years in operation, an East Austin liquid nitrogen ice cream shop has closed.

On Tuesday, Eater reported Spun Ice Cream, the frozen sweet shop with the unique cooling method, has now closed. The store was located at 1912 E. 7th St. in East Austin, the website reported.

But all is not lost, fans of liquid-nitrogen-cooled ice cream: according to Eater, fans can still get the ice cream through catering as well as at the shipping container shop next to the Whole Foods at The Domain.
