Austin Mayor To Unveil Plan To House Downtown Homeless
Details are scheduled to be released Monday on efforts to relieve overcrowding at main homeless shelter, Mayor Steve Adler said.

AUSTIN, TX — City officials plan to roll out a plan next week to house members of the homeless community downtown and relieve overcrowding at the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless shelter, officials said Friday.
Details of the plan are expected to be disclosed at a press conference scheduled on Monday, according to the office of Mayor Steve Adler. In the meantime, the mayor on Sunday evening was expected to post a description of the plan on the City Council message board found here: austincouncilforum.org.
Come Monday, Adler will discuss the initiative in greater detail. The July 17 press conference is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. at the City Hall atrium.
