Austin-Area Meat Lovers: Win Year's Worth Of Perry's Pork Chops

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Valentine's Day, Shmalentine's Day. Instead of roses or chocolate, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is giving away a year's worth of pork chops to mark its 40th anniversary.

Now that's a gift we can sink our teeth into — literally. The restaurant chain, with a downtown Austin location at 114 W. 7th St., noted its signature porcine dish, Perry’s Famous Pork Chop, is rubbed, slow-roasted, glazed, caramelized and topped with Perry’s famous herb-garlic butter.

It's part of the restaurant's Pork Chop Friday Lunch series, don't you know.

To enter the contest and potentially win one year's worth of pork chops, entrants will have three opportunities throughout the year to participate in the giveaway. Entrants can share a post, photo or video to their personal Facebook or Instagram page using hashtag #PerrysTurns40 and tagging @PerrysSteakhouse on Instagram and @PerrysDining on Facebook.

For the shared post, photo or video, entrants should also incorporate one of the following sentimental messages:

• Words of congratulations or personal well wishes for Perry’s 40th year.
• A favorite Perry’s memory.
• A favorite Perry’s dish.

There are, naturally, rules attached to this contest.

• Entries made in one contest period do not carry over to the next.
• Post must appear on a personal Facebook or Instagram page and include a sentimental message.
• Post must tag @PerrysSteakhouse on Instagram and @PerrysDining on Facebook, and use #PerrysTurns40.

Winners will receive 52 Pork Chop Friday Lunch gift cards (includes a lunch cut of Perry’s famous pork chop, whipped potatoes and homemade applesauce) valued at $14.95, available Fridays from 11 am to 4 pm and redeemable at any Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille location.

The contest will be announced on Perry’s Facebook and Instagram pages on Wednesday, Feb. 6, with the first winner selected on March 29.

So for those hating on Valentine's Day: Don't say "I love you" with roses, flowers, greeting cards or stuffed animals when you can say it with pork. Because it's sow easy to sty a little tenderness.
