- Lobster Avocado Toast: Sliced Maine lobster tail, harvest toast, avocado salad, tarragon aioli, bacon and sunny side up eggs.

How 'bout a drink, mom? The restaurant’s mixologists have created an exclusive, mom-inspired specialty cocktail, “The Matriach” for the occasion. The flowery concoction is made with an endearing mix of rum, Montenegro amarol, Shochu (sweet potato and rice vodka from Japan), orgeat and lime juice. Truluck’s mixologists hand craft libations with expert care, using only premium spirits mixed with fresh fruit and hand-squeezed citrus juices. Additionally, Truluck’s wine list, recognized by Wine Spectator Magazine’s Award of Excellence, offers perfect mealtime pairings with more than 70 exquisite varietals available by the glass and bottle.
For dessert, families can indulge in a decadent array of house-made desserts, including Chocolate Malt Cake, Baked Alaska and the restaurant’s signature Carrot Cake, topped with caramel drizzle and spicy pecans.
Mother’s Day hours for Truluck’s Arboretum and Downtown are noon to 9 p.m. The full dinner menu will be served throughout the day. Brunch offerings will be available until 3 p.m. Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged. Call Truluck’s Arboretum at (512) 794-8300 or Truluck’s Downtown at (512) 428-9000. Editor's note: Patch was alerted on May 9 that a planned collaboration with jewelry designer Kendra Scott would not longer be part of this promotion, as described in an earlier version of this guide. As a result, Truluck's will not be offering patrons a gift from the jewelry designer on Mother's Day.

Nestled amid the bucolic Texas Hill Country in Hye, Texas, the William Chris Vineyards is helmed by two of the foremost winegrowers in the Lone Star State, William "Bill" Blackmon and Chris Brundrett. Since founding WCV in 2008, WCV has set the bar high for other area wineries, being a trend-setter instead of simply following the crowd. Unique characteristics help them stand out, including producing "100% Texas Wine with 100% Texas grapes," they write with palpable pride.
Just in time for the upcoming holiday to celebrate moms comes the William Chris Vineyards Mother's Day gift set featuring four of the vineyards' best-sellers and new releases for $120, including shipping. Gift sets are available for purchase here. Here's the scoop:
- 2018 Mary Ruth: Honeysuckle, orange blossom, lime, and lemongrass tickle the nose. Stone fruit, pear, Granny Smith apple, and a hint of white pepper tease the palate as they lead into a bright finish.
- 2018 High Plains Rosé: This rosé was whole-cluster pressed two hours after harvest, with minimal skin contact giving the juice a light pink cotton candy color. Aromas of strawberries and cream, raspberry, and subtle citrus peel hit the nose. On the palate, a rich minerality mixes with citrus, stone fruit, and strawberry. A touch of flint supports its lingering finish.
- 2017 Enchanté: Aromas of bramble fruit, violets and plum touch the nose, while well-structured tannins with notes of dark cherry and mocha with a hint of black pepper paint the palate.
- 2017 Texas Mourvedre: Texture bursts into a palate of spicy cinnamon & zesty red fruits showing an inviting silky mouthfeel and vibrant focus. Grilled orange slices, red currant, baked cranberry with hints of dried flowers and mulled wine spices.
