Austin Police Investigate Two Overnight Homicides
Police responded first to Mueller Boulevard and, some eight hours later, to Alexandria Drive in separate incidents they termed as homicides.
AUSTIN, TX — Police in Austin continue to investigate a pair of homicides that occurred within hours of each other this weekend.
The first incident occurred late Friday along the 4600 block of Mueller Boulevard. Responding to a "shots fired" call just before 10:45 p.m., police found Anthony Hebert, 19, with gunshot wounds, officials said in an advisory. He was pronounced dead just before 11:30 p.m., police said.
Police said they have identified most of the people involved in the incident, and are in the process of locating them in order to conduct interviews. Police stressed this was an isolated incident, suggesting it was between the victim and suspect rather than a random shooting.

Detectives urge anyone with cell phone video or information about the incident to call the homicide unit at (512) 974-TIPS (8477), Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS (8477) or email the police homicide unit at homicide.apd@austintexas.gov.

Some eight hours later, police responded to a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning in Southwest Austin. In a subsequent advisory, police said the incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, police found David Dunn, 59, with extensive trauma that included a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 5 a.m.
Police said the isolated incident is being investigated, with detectives in the process of identifying witnesses to interview.
