Austin Police Looking For Fugitive Following 10-Hour Standoff

Police have identified the suspect as 28-year-old Donald Mattox​. He has an outstanding warrant for assault family violence, police said.

AUSTIN, TX - The Austin Police Department is looking for a fugitive involved in a ten-hour standoff in East Austin with police Sunday afternoon. Police have identified him as 28-year-old Donald Mattox.

On Sunday, police responded to Fort Branch at Truman’s Landing, which is located at 5800 Blk Techni Center Dr., around 4 p.m. for a domestic dispute.

According to Fox 7, he had barricaded himself inside an apartment and was possibly armed. However, after a diligent search by SWAT of the apartment building around 2 a.m., they were not able to locate Mattox.

He remains at large and has an outstanding warrant for assault family violence, according to police.
