Austin Pride Day 2019: Events, What To Know

AUSTIN, TX — Pride Day is right around the corner, and the weekend is filled with myriad ways of celebrating this weekend. This year's theme for the 29th annual Austin Pride Festival & Parade is "Boogie Wonderland," giving you a glimpse into the party that lies ahead.
For brunch and a show, you might want to consider Hotel Van Zandt on Aug. 11. The event dubbed "Brunch Out With Trevor" will feature a menu by the talented team at Geraldine’s and performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar, Willam, Louisianna Purchase, Beatrix Lestrange, Boiz of Austin, Miss Shalae and Kelly Kline. 100 percent of ticket sales and silent auction will benefit The Trevor Project’s mission to support LGBTQ youth.

Lick Honest Ice Creams co-founders, Chad and Anthony, will be marching with the Lick crew in the Austin Pride Parade on August 10, handing out Lick-branded swag for all. Guests in attendance have the chance to receive coupons for delicious and discounted seasonal and sustainable artisan ice cream flavors from Lick Honest Ice Creams. This all goes down on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

East Austin Hotel's East Austin Hotel’s Summer Swell series is a weekly pool party happening every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day. Reminiscent of 1960’s Palm Springs pool parties, Summer Swell opens access to the hotel’s courtyard pool to locals and visiting guests. Complete with food & beverage specials—including $5 punch, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Ice Cold Raw Farm Vegetables, Hummus, Muhammara, Tater Tots & Ketchup, Guacamole—a Gati Ice Cream truck pop-up, and DJ Bird Peterson.
On Sunday, August 11, Summer Swell will be a Rainbow Connection Edition. The hotel is partnering with inLieu to donate Summer Swell proceeds to LGBTQIA nonprofit The Equality Alliance in support of Austin Pride and Chappy, Bumble’s gay dating app. Expect outstanding, fabulous performances by Austin’s own queens Maeve Haven and Vylette Ward and complimentary drinks, bites and swag will be given to those who present their Chappy dating profiles at the event.
