Austin Ranked 12th Among Nation's 'Boom Towns'

AUSTIN, TX — Austin is one of the nation's "boom towns" a recent survey found.

Analysts at SmartAsset studied various metrics in finding the local economies that are contributing most to the overall economy, ranking the capital city 12th on its list. Among the criteria considered in the reckoning were unemployment rate, growth domestic product growth, population change, housing development, change in household income and business expansion.
