Austin Ranked Booziest City in U.S., Loves Margaritas

The city of Austin is known for its love of Margaritas, and now it has been ranked as the “booziest” city in the United States.

The popular dating site Match.com used data from users’ dating profiles to find out which cities have the most singles who “regularly drink,” according to Refinery29. The highest concentration of these singles were found in Austin, with their drink of choice being (of course) margaritas. Match users in Austin mention margaritas at a much higher rate than the country average. Houston was ranked number 10 on the list, and their most mentioned alcoholic beverage was Miller Light.

The second booziest city was Santa Rosa, Calif., with pinot noir as their drink of choice, followed by: New Orleans, Corona; Portland Ore., pinot noir; Charleston S.C., gin; Baton Rouge La., Jägermeister; Jackson Miss., Budweiser; Bakersfield Calif., Corona; and Little Rock Ark., Jägermeister.
