Austin Road Closures List For Aug. 11-17, 2018

AUSTIN, TX — If we've said it once, we've said it a million times: If you know ahead of time which streets will be closed for maintenance or construction, your drive to work, school or merely errands will go so much more smoothly. You'll get to your destination in a seamless fashion, you'll get to work in a happy mood and/or you won't take our your frustrations on the kids.

Traffic in the fast-growing Austin region is already bad enough. Why not empower yourself with information to avoid further congestion and driver frustration? Why not plot out alternative routes ahead of your drive?

Which is all to say that the Texas Department of Transportation has released its latest list of streets you might want to either avoid the week of Aug. 11 to Aug. 17:

I-35 AT FM 3406

• Various southbound I-35 frontage road closures between Wolle Lane and FM 3406
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Monday, Aug. 13.
• FM 3406 right lane closed in both directions across I-35
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH

• Expect northbound I-35 frontage road closures between Gattis School Road and RM 620
  • From 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 17.
• McNeil Road closed under I-35
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Monday, Aug. 13.
• Various McNeil Road closures in both directions under I-35.
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 through Friday, Aug. 17.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Powell Lane closed at I-35. Detour via Wonsley Drive
  • Through August 2018
• Carver Avenue at the southbound US 183 frontage road closed
  • Through August 2018.
• Clock Tower Drive at the northbound US 183 frontage road closed
  • Through September 2018.
• I-35 left lane closed in both directions between US 183 and US 290 East
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between US 183 and Rundberg Lane. Exit #241 will also be closed.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Drive and US 290 East
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 17.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed after Rutherford Lane
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 24.

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Eastbound Riverside Drive right lane closed over I-35
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Tuesday, Aug. 14.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Woodward Street and Woodland Avenue. Watch for flaggers.
  • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 17.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Oltorf Street and Woodward Street. Watch for flaggers.
  • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 17.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between SH 71 and Woodward Street
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 17 and from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed under Riverside Drive
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13 through Tuesday, Aug. 14.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between the Woodland Avenue exit and Woodland Avenue
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 31.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Drive and Nelms Drive
  • Through August 2018.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between the William Cannon exit and Nelms Drive
  • From 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed between Little Texas Lane and the William Cannon Drive entrance ramp
  • From 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Northbound I-35 U-Turn bridge closed at Stassney Lane
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Dr and Nelms Drive
  • Through Aug. 24.

MAINTENANCE

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Wells Branch Parkway and Grand Avenue Parkway. Exit #247 will also be closed.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Northbound I-35 entrance ramp closed between Howard Lane and Wells Branch Parkway
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp from 6th Street closed
  • From 7 a.m. until 19 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Yarrington Road and Kyle Crossing
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 through Thursday, Aug. 16.
