AUSTIN,TEXAS — St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and opportunities to celebrate in Austin will abound.
Also known as the Feast of Saint Patrick, the observance is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17. That's the date marked to observe the death of the foremost patron saint of Ireland. But you already knew all of this, right? Surely, you don't just mark your calendar to remind yourself to drink green beer on that date. Of course not.
Patch has begun getting notifications of some of the best St. Patrick's Day celebrations, and we'll continually update this list as more such notices filter in. Here's what we've got so far:

Celebrate the luck of the Irish at Brix and Ale's Paddy O' Party Saint Patrick's Day. In titling the event, organizers have cleverly engaged in word play in alluding to their patio. However, you might be in need of that famous Irish luck in securing patio and fire pit seating, both available on a first come, first served basis. But let's not dwell on what might not be but rather on the fun that's planned. From noon to 4 p.m. on March 17, patrons can take advantage of $4 Guinness and $5 Jameson cocktails, Irish themed bites, and live foot-stomping music. Reservations for our Sunday breakfast buffet or a la carte brunch inside Brix And Ale can be made by calling 737-444-2750 or at brixandalegtx.com.

"Pluck Me, I'm Irish," is the variation to the "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" attendant refrain each St. Patrick's Day. Typically tenacious in its reporting, Patch opted not to inquire what the action calls for. But this is another matter entirely. Pluckers Wing Bar is excited to host their 13th annual celebration at its Round Rock location on Sunday, March 17. It's actually a family-friendly event with games and live music starting at 12 p.m. In addition, Pluckers will be offering $3 green beers, outdoor live music, face painting, music from Blender and DJ DTWR, and a special round of their scavenger-hunt-style game, Pluck Hunt. Pluckers is roping off the parking lot to accommodate a tent, stage, and additional chairs and tables for seating. The event runs until 6 p.m. Pluckers Round Rock is open on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. For more information on the event and menu visit: http://www.pluckers.com/.
