Austin Streets Closure List For Aug. 17-24

AUSTIN, TX — Knowing ahead of time which roads are closed for construction or maintenance can save commute time by plotting alternate routes in avoiding congestion. The Texas Department of Transportation provides a list of closed roads each week.

These are the roads slated for closure from Aug. 17-24:

I-35 AT FM 3406

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Wolle Ln and FM 3406
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Wednesday, August 22
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed after FM 3406. Use Chisholm Trail Rd and Sam Bass Rd.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, August 23 through Friday, August 24
• FM 3406 right lane closed in both directions across I-35
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23
• Southbound I-35 frontage road turn lanes at FM 3406 closed
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday, August 23 through Friday, August 24

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Hesters Crossing and the US 79 exit
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Monday, August 20
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Hesters Crossing and US 79 exit
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, August 20 through Tuesday, August 21
• SH 45 N exit closed at northbound I-35
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, August 20 through Tuesday, August 21
• McNeil Rd closed under I-35. Use Hesters Crossing or RM 620
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Monday, August 20

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Powell Ln closed at I-35. Detour via Wonsley Dr.
  • Through August 2018
• Carver Ave closed at the southbound US 183 frontage road
  • Through August 2018
• Clock Tower Dr closed at the northbound US 183 frontage road
  • Through September 2018
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed after Rutherford Ln
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays, through August 24
• I-35 left lane closed in both directions between US 183 and US 290 E
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between US 183 and Rundberg Ln. The Rundberg Ln exit (#241) will also be closed.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23
• Various southbound I-35 frontage road closurs between Huntland Dr and US 290 E
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Rutherford Ln
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between the Woodland Ave exit and Woodland Ave
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays, through August 31st
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Woodward St and Woodland Ave exit. Watch for flaggers.
  • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Oltorf St and Woodward St
  • From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closed between SH 71 and Woodward St
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24and from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23
• Various I-35 frontage road closures in both directions across Oltorf St
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 21 through Wednesday, August 22

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Dr and Nelms Dr
  • Through August 2018
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Chaparral Rd and Corral Ln
  • From 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Monday, August 20
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between the William Cannon Dr exit and Nelms St
  • From 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed between Little Texas Ln and the William Cannon Dr entrance ramp
  • From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23
• Various northbound I-35 frontage road closures between Nelms Dr and Stassney Ln
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, August 20
• Northbound I-35 U-turn bridge closed at Stassney Ln

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between the William Cannon Dr exit and Boggy Creek Dr
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, August 20 Tuesday, August 21
• Alternating I-35 closures in both directions between Slaughter Ln and SH 71
  • From 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 21 through Thursday, August 23
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Slaughter Ln entrance ramp and the William Cannon Dr exit
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 21 through Thursday, August 23
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between William Cannon Dr and the next entrance ramp
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 22

MAINTENANCE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Three Points Rd and Cheddar Loop Rd. The Wells Branch Parkway exit will also be closed.
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Thursday, August 23
• Various I-35 frontage road closures in both directions between SH 45 N and Wells Branch Parkway. The Wells Branch Parkway exit is also closed.
  • From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24
• Various northbound I-35 frontage road closures at FM 2001 (Exit #219)
  • From 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 19 through Monday, August 20
• Various I-35 closures in both directions between Yarrington Rd and Robert S. Light Blvd
  • From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, August 20 through Thursday, 23
