Austin Weather: Floodgate Opened at Tom Miller Dam

The floodgate was opened due to heavy inflow into Lake Austin.

AUSTIN, TX - The Lower Colorado River Authority has opened one floodgate at Tom Miller Dam on Lake Austin. The gate was opened due to heavy inflow into Lake Austin.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Austin until 10 a.m. on Tuesday while a flash flood advisory remains in effect until 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the area with sunny skies returning no earlier than Friday.
