Batch Brewery Opening At Popular Spot For Kolaches

6 Batch beers will be available for purchase on tap, and one beer will be available bottled at the family-owned and operated bakery.

AUSTIN, TX — Batch Brewery is poised to celebrate its grand opening later this month at a popular spot for kolaches run by a pair of local brothers, officials announced.

Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches owners Noah and Josh Lit have scheduled the grand opening from Friday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 10. Six Batch beers will be available for purchase on tap, and one beer will be available bottled at the family-owned and operated kolache bakery, taproom, and retail craft beer shop, officials detailed in a press advisory.

During the grand opening weekend, Batch will offer short tours of the brewery upon request, kolache specials throughout the weekend, live music on Friday evening, and “The Comedy Batch with Robert Segovia” stand-up show on Saturday night at 7 p.m.

"We are honored and thrilled to add our little brewhouse to the amazing beer scene here in Central Texas,” Noah Lit said. “John and Heath are brewing the kinds of beers we love to drink, and we are so excited to share them with everyone."

Leading the brewing at Batch Brewery is Head Brewer John Snyder and Heath Shuford, who will be spearheading the IPA program. Batch Brewery focuses on table beers, IPAs, barrel-aged sours, culinary beers, and sour IPA culinary table beers.

In celebration of the grand opening, Batch will release the following beers, all of which will be available on tap:

  • Galaxies Collide: Ale fermented with Cabernet Sauvignon, lavender, hibiscus, rose hips
  • B.Y.N.: Dry-hopped table beer re-fermented with pineapple
    • Recommended kolache pairing: Ham and cheese kolache
  • Ha Ha Saison: 5-grain, Nelson dry-hopped saison with native Texas yeast
    • Recommended kolache pairing: Apple sage veggie sausage and gouda
  • SJÖFEN: Strawberry farmhouse ale
    • Recommended kolache pairing: Three cheese kolache or PB&J for dessert
  • Cottonmouth DDH Baustin: IPA ridiculously hopped with Citra, Columbus, and Idaho 7
    • Recommended kolache pairing: Sausage Jalapeno Cheese
  • Ferus Flower: Wild jasmine pale ale

Additionally, there will be one bottled Batch beer available in the fridge section:

  • Urwagwa: African banana ale with wild yeast (gluten-free)

Designed by Josh and Laura Lit, the Brewery is split into two sides—the clean brewing room and the funky barrel room (aka The BugRoom). The BugRoom will be stocked with barrels, puncheons, old stainless steel drums, and any other cool containers they can age beer in. The Brewery will open to the public for short tours upon request.

In addition to the Brewery opening, Batch is excited to announce that they are furthering their partnership with Micklethwait Craft Meats, a longtime provider of brisket kolache fillings, and will soon be home base to a new food truck concept from the Craft Meats team. More details and opening date will be announced soon.
