Officials said left turns will be temporarily prohibited during the construction work, and police officers will be on site to help direct traffic control throughout the duration of this work. Crews will work continuously night and day in an effort to expedite completion of this work.

During the first phase, traffic will be shifted to the north and reduced to one lane in each direction to allow crews to work on the south side of the roadway. Phase two will begin once work on the south side of the roadway is complete. During this phase, traffic will be shifted to the south with one lane in each direction.

At the end of phase two, the roadway will open with two lanes in each direction and crews will begin phase three work. Transportation officials said they anticipate Bee Cave Road to remain in this configuration until the center-turn lane can be striped. Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the closure. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes, as heavy delays are expected due to local events. Drivers should exercise patience and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.

"TxDOT and the contractor understand the inconvenience this will cause and are committed to getting the work done quickly and safely," officials wrote in a press advisory.
