BET Awards Could Be Relocated To Austin: Report
Fortune magazine notes that with cable company management change, ceremony could move to capital city, Houston or Atlanta.

AUSTIN, TX — The annual BET Awards ceremony honoring African American achievement in sports and entertainment could be moving to Austin, according to a published reports.
Citing new management at the cable network under whose auspices the awards are bestowed, Fortune magazine reported a relocation from Los Angeles might be in the offing, with the Texas capital city among the contenders to host the ceremony. The other contenders are Atlanta and Houston, according to the report.
The latest iteration of the BET Awards were broadcast on Sunday night. The prizes for achievement have been bestowed since 2001. BET officials didn't confirm the plans, but cryptically volunteered their current contract expires this year and aim for a one-year extension, according to the Fortune report.
