Beyond the 100th Percentile: Celebrating Harmony’s Perfect STAAR Scorers

While achieving a top rank in the 100th percentile on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exam is an extraordinary accomplishment, a group of standout Harmony Public Schools elementary scholars took excellence a step further this year. These remarkable students earned a 100% perfect raw score—correctly answering every single question on their exams, including the unscored embedded field-test items.

Answering every item flawlessly across multiple-choice questions, interactive tasks, and open-ended written responses requires complete accuracy and deep understanding.

"We are incredibly proud of these students for their remarkable focus, hard work, and dedication," said Area Superintendent Dr. Mustafa Altindag. "Answering every single question correctly—including the experimental questions that vary from test to test—demonstrates a profound mastery of the material and an outstanding commitment to academic excellence."

In Their Own Words: Big Dreams for the Future

Beyond their impressive test results, these young scholars have bright ambitions and inspiring goals for what comes next:

• Jeenisha K. (5th Grade): "I felt shocked and happy that I scored a 100 on the STAAR test. I want to be a doctor when I grow up because I have always wanted to help people stay healthy."
• Abhay M. (5th Grade): "It felt great to earn a hundred on the STAAR test. I worked very hard through the whole fourth-grade year to get here. When I grow up I want to be a brain or heart surgeon, so I am going to work my hardest to get there."
• Lara A. (5th Grade): "It felt pretty surprising... It was also a nice feeling to be congratulated by everyone. I am glad I got a 100% to benefit me and my school." Lara shares that her future ideas range from becoming an author or comedian to an artist or teacher.
• Elias V. (4th Grade): "My year in fourth grade was very good. My teacher was Ms. Joy Anderson. In the future, I want to become a scientist... Getting a perfect score means a lot to me, so I am proud of myself for accomplishing one of my goals."
