🌱 Bike To Work On Friday + Sports Fun At The Pitch + Wine Day Events

Rise and shine, Austin! Let's get you started this Thursday with everything you need to know going on today in Austin.

Here are the top stories today in Austin:

  1. On Friday, May 20, the "Austin Transportation Department (ATD) and other partner organizations" invite the community "to hit the pavement on two wheels" during Bike to Work Day! To celebrate, an Austin City Hall event will be held at 9 a.m. with "Austin Mayor Steve Adler, City Manager Spencer Cronk and Transportation Director Rob Spillar." Participants will have a chance to access 2022 Austin Bike Maps online or on paper at local libraries and select community buildings. They will also be able to "access fueling stations that feature coffee, snacks, and more, and even join a group ride." For more details visit: (AustinTexas.gov)
  2. If you feel like it's time to get away from it all, one place where you can do that is at Spa Sway located at 11011 Domain Dr., Ste 124. The professional spa clinic voted as the best spa in Austinfeatures "a wide range of services," and offers affordable spa packages.   3. The Pitch is "a new sports, hospitality, and entertainment complex in North Austin," located at 13000 Harris Ridge Boulevard. The complex features "watch parties, food, drink, music, and more."   4. Now that warmer weather is here and school breaks comes up, more travelers are likely to fly, which means there will probably be "longer wait times at the airport." Just recently, on May 17, "the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said its officers screened more than 2 million people" and the "Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) expects to see a record-breaking 20 million passengers in 2022."   5. Wednesday, May 25 is National Wine Day and to celebrate, Hotel Granduca Austin "will be offering 20% off bottles of Trinitas Cellars all day!" The celebration will continue at the hotel on Thursday, May 26 with "A Taste of Napa Long Table Dinner" at 5:30 p.m. The event will feature "a multi-course meal of Italian-inspired dishes paired with tastes from Napa Valley's Trinitas Cellars" wines.
