Here are the top stories today in Austin:
1) In the face of a bus driver shortage, Central Texas School Districts are forced to get creative. More than one month into the school year and Lake Travis and Bastrop ISD continue to battle a massive shortage of bus drivers. Both districts have resorted to cutting routes, creating "shuttle routes, and even having other staffers fill in.
Both districts are actively hiring, with Bastrop trying to sweeten the deal for prospective drivers, by offering a signing bonus. A thousand dollar signing bonus for those without experience, five thousand dollars if you have a CDL, you're an experienced driver. Head to FOX 7 Austin to learn more.
2) Two people were shot at Givens Park on Sunday. First responders found two people shot at Givens Park in East Austin and transported them with non-life-threatening injuries. There are currently no suspects in custody. CBS Austin has more on this developing story.
3) October's weather forecast continues to cause concern. The Austin American-Statesman has compiled the "5 things about Austin's weather worth worrying over in October" – check it out.
