Kingsbury Commons

The site of today's Pease District Park was part of the 365-acre Woodlawn homestead owned by former Texas Governor E. M. Pease and his wife, Lucadia. Although Governor Pease supported the Union during the Civil War, research has found that at least 37 individuals were directly enslaved or leased as enslaved labor by the Pease family. This tour recognizes and shares some of the stories of a few of these people.
This tour will include about 1.5 miles of walking and learning about this history from our tour guides, Donovan and Julia. If you have concerns about this walk, please contact us at info@peasepark.org for assistance.

Historic Georgetown

(GEORGETOWN, Texas) — The City of Georgetown’s Arts and Culture Program invites the community to explore the Downtown Georgetown Cultural District during the 2026 Spring Art Stroll on Friday, April 17, from 4–8 p.m. One of two semi-annual arts and culture events, the Art Stroll offers art exhibits, art/shopping booths, artist demonstrations, live music, and art activities throughout historic downtown Georgetown.
Guests can pick up an Art Stroll badge at one of two designated check-in locations. In the evening, visitors will enjoy live music from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/swingshiftaustin/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Swing Shift</a> and other local musicians. The Spring Art Stroll provides an opportunity to celebrate Georgetown’s arts scene while supporting local artists and organizations.&nbsp;
