Mexico Design Fair is back in Austin for the second year in a row, thanks in large part to Consuela founder Conni Reed. For the first time ever, this innovative design fair will have an exhibit open to the public, bringing a curated selection of contemporary Mexican-sourced furniture and design pieces to the greater Austin area. The exhibit is free to attend and will be open on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Filmmakers, musicians, artists, creative professionals, queer indie film fans, aGLIFF friends, and Austin LGBT Chamber members are invited to mix, mingle, and make new connections over breakfast tacos and cocktails while celebrating the people powering Austin's queer creative economy.

The suggested donation of $10 to aGLIFF includes a breakfast taco buffet + complimentary Fara Coffee, plus a pool pass for the rest of the afternoon. The Skyline Bar will be open with signature Deep Eddy Vodka cocktails and other beverages available for purchase.
Pay-What-You-Can: While the suggested donation is $10 guests can pay what-they-can at check out. There is a minimum donation of $1 required to RSVP for the event. Donations support aGLIFF, Austin's LGBTQ+ Film Festival and help defray the cost of the entire weekend of events. Your generosity is appreciated.
Valet parking is available at Hotel Indigo for an additional fee. Street parking is free on Sundays in downtown Austin and there are spaces around the venue. Guests are also encouraged to consider options from CapMetro or rideshare services.

The Roosevelt Room

The cocktail world’s most talented supporting actors are finally getting top billing. Because behind every impossibly chic martini, moody Negroni, or suspiciously strong espresso martini is a cast of bitter, herbal, citrusy, and occasionally mysterious modifiers doing all the heavy lifting.

In this deep dive into the deliciously dramatic world of liqueurs, cordials, bitters, amari, absinthe, vermouths, fortified wines, and other cocktail enhancers, guests will explore the bottles bartenders guard like state secrets. Some are ancient remedies, some were created by monks, and some taste like they could either cure you or ruin your life. Sometimes both.

Throughout the course, attendees will taste through an extensive lineup of unique and iconic modifiers while learning their histories, production methods, flavor profiles, and the essential role they play behind the bar. Because while spirits may be the headline act, modifiers are usually the reason the drink has personality.

Guests will also learn the fundamentals of tasting, how to identify different modifier categories by their trademark characteristics, and how to speak confidently about what’s in the glass without sounding insufferable at dinner parties….a very delicate balance.
