For the likely handful of Cedar Park denizens not participating in the parade, take note of road closures adjacent to the parade route. City officials remind motorists that Cypress Creek Road will be briefly closed from 2100 Sun Chase Blvd. (Cedar Park Middle School) to 2150 Cypress Creek Road (Cedar Park High School), from about 1:55 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23 to accommodate the celebration.
The impetus for the afternoon parade is the Timberwolves’ 22-6 rout over the Frisco Lone Star Rangers last month to clinch the Class 5A Division II title--the second state crown for the team in since 2012.
