Here are the top stories in Austin today:

1) Have a burning question for an Austin City Council candidate? Now is your chance to ask! 2) First responders from across Central Texas and family gathered on Monday for the funeral and final honors of senior Austin police officer Anthony "Tony" Martin. The Statesman reports that hundreds of city, county, and state law enforcement officers, medical first responders and firefighters attended the funeral at Hill Country Bible Church in North Austin, along with several local government officials. 3) The city sees an increase in vehicle-pedestrian crashes. Data from Vision Zero reveals there have been at least 72 fatalities in 2022 and 27 pedestrian deaths. "Austin this year has seen an uptick in fatalities and serious injuries especially compared with previous years," said Joel Meyer, a transportation planner with Vision Zero. "The rising pedestrian fatalities especially have been pretty striking over the last few years and I want to stress that this is really a national problem. It's not just something Austin is experiencing." CBS Austin has more on this story.


4) Austin emergency crews claim they're ready for Austin City Limits Music Festival. Capt. Darren Noak with Austin-Travis County EMS, says "the festival safety is a team effort between police, fire, and EMS personnel. They'll also have a drone team out feeding back real-time aerial footage to the command post."
