Code Ninjas In Pflugerville Schedules Star Wars-Themed Launch
Princess Leia, stormtroopers and others will be on hand May 4 greeting guests touring new kids' coding center during party-style opening.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Code Ninjas, a karate-themed coding center for kids, will celebrate its grand opening on May 4 in Pflugerville — a municipality not that far, far away from Austin — with a theme that would make George Lucas proud.
May the Fourth be with with you indeed if you go, where Princess Leia and stormtroopers (or reasonable facsimiles thereof) will be on hand to greet guests and take pictures with attendees in photo booths, light sabers in hand.
There will also be a scratch code R2D2 unit as well as drones, Kamagami robot races and a Plinko style game board for prizes for the kids. There will be raffles for a chance to win a drone, Kamagami robot, a week of summer camp, an ultimate parent’s night out package and more.

Costumes are also encouraged to combine the force of coding and a galaxy far, far away, organizers said, clearly already getting into the spirit of things.

Code Ninjas is a karate-themed coding center for kids ages 7-14 and has found that sweet spot where kids have fun and parents see results. The new Pflugerville location recently opened at 2100 Autumn State Dr., Suite. 100.
Students of the center ("ninjas," as it were) gain coding and problem-solving skills they’ll need for the jobs of the future. To that end, a robust, game-based curriculum made up of nine belts, just like martial arts is utilized. The curriculum is self-paced, but not self-taught, its operators said. Instead, kids get immediate help and encouragement from Code Senseis and fellow ninjas as they advance from white to black belt.
The program keeps kids motivated with small, but decisive, victories along the way, and “Belt-Up” celebrations during which they receive color-coded wristbands to mark their graduation to the next level. By the time a child finishes the program, they’ll have published a real app in the app store, operators of the center noted.
Code Ninjas offers a variety of opportunities for children to get involved, including a flexible after school drop-in program, camps and Parents Night Out events on weekends.
The Pflugerville location is owned and operated by local residents and married couple, Rachael and Regan Davis. The duo met in middle school, graduated from Pflugerville High School and recently moved back to raise their two young children and open a business that would benefit the Pflugerville community, according to a press advisory.
After researching various concepts and speaking with education professionals in the district, Rachael discovered many of the surrounding schools don’t incorporate STEM into their core curriculum, which is why she and Regan felt Code Ninjas was a great fit for the area.

“We wanted to bring a cool and interesting coding concept to our hometown,” Rachael said. “Code Ninjas offers local children the chance to learn something that will impact their future in the best way possible, while also keeping things fun and exciting.”
Code Ninjas founder and CEO David Graham is a professional software developer who previously owned a successful chain of coding camps for adults. After numerous inquiries from parents, Graham realized there was an unmet demand to teach children coding skills. He launched the Code Ninjas brand in 2016.
“Parents want their children to learn the critical skills that they’ll need in the future, but it also has to be fun for kids. Code Ninjas has found that sweet spot where kids have fun and parents see results, and we’re truly excited to bring our unique concept to Pflugerville and surrounding communities,” Graham said.
The grand opening is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Princess Leia and the stormtroopers available for pictures from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information about the Code Ninjas Pflugerville location, visit their website. The telephone number is (512) 537-4948.
