Coke And Shrimp Day, Burger Month Deals In Texas Abound

AUSTIN, TX — It seems like every day there's an observance for something or other. Coming up: National Burger Month, National Shrimp Day and National Have a Coke Day. Yes, those are real things. What does it all mean? Food and beverage deals for one and all!

And for good measure, the upcoming Shack Track and Field May Run has yielded special deals at organizer Shake Shack, which we'll also detail for you.

Applebee's: National Shrimp Day.

Sorry, Austin, but you're excluded from this deal. We're still listing it, though, unless Austinites find themselves traveling to nearby cities where the National Shrimp Day offering is valid. In honor of National Shrimp Day on Friday, May 10, Applebee's restaurants throughout Texas (those owned and operated by Neighborhood Restaurant Partners anyway) will be offering all-you-can-eat Double Crunch Shrimp for just $9.99. "Each delicious plate of golden, crispy-battered, extra-crunchy fried shrimp comes with a side of fries, signature coleslaw and is served with either cocktail or tartar sauce and a lemon wedge," Applebee's officials wrote tantalizingly in a press advisory.

Participating locations nearest Austin include Del Rio, Kyle, New Braunfels, San Antonio (97 Loop 410 NE, 7880 IH 35 North, 1511 S.W. Military Drive, 11605 W. 1604 N and 15802 IH-10 West) and Uvalde. Doc B’s Restaurant + Bar: "National Burger Month" Promotion

To celebrate what many call America’s favorite food, Doc B’s Restaurant + Bar has created special burgers to feature every week throughout the month of May. On May 6, Doc B’s rolled out all-new burgers available for just one week in its Austin location at $18. Guests who post about the burger on Instagram, and tag @DocBsRestaurant with the hashtag #MyDocBsBurger will be entered to win a $50 Doc B’s gift card! Here are the juicy details:

• Wed, 5/8 - Tues 5/14 — B.O.S.S. Burger - sesame seed bun, barbecue sauce, thick cut onion ring, coleslaw, Swiss cheese.

Jack in the Box: "National Have a Coke Day" Deal

In observance of National Have a Coke Day from May 8 to May 12, Jack in the Box will offer customers a free Jumbo Jack with the Purchase of a large Coke for those signing up for the chain's e-club at jackinthebox.com/offers. The Jumbo Jack is one of the chain's signature menu offerings, a 100% beef patty topped with two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, chopped onions, real mayonnaise, and ketchup on what it calls a Buttery Bakery Bun. Shake Shack: Shack Track & Field

Participants in Shake Shack's monthly community run dubbed Shack Track & Field get their first drink back on them. The event occurs every second Tuesday of the month, led by Run Lab Austin and Shoal Creek Striders. The next event is scheduled on May 14 at 7 p.m. Two routes will be available from the Shack Domain + Shack South Lamar.
