College Lecturer Busted For Austin-Based Drug Ring

University of Texas at San Antonio lecturer Rose Rodriguez-Rabin, 51, is charged with manufacturing and distributing meth-laced pills.

AUSTIN, TX — A university lecturer is suspected of being a distributor of large amounts of the Adderall-like pills containing methemphetmine in Austin and San Antonio, according to reports.

Rose Rodriguez-Rabin, 51, was arrested along with her roommate Brandon Sims, 25, on Dec. 11 after Drug Enforcement Agency officials found tens of thousands of fake Adderall pills containing meth, KSAT reported. The woman was a lecturer at the University of Texas at San Antonio until being suspended to teach there in the wake of the bust, the news station reported.

The DEA probe centered at an apartment in Austin along the 5600 block of Presidio Parkway where undercover agents posing as buyers secured drugs from Rodriguez-Rabin in a $3,300 transaction, the news station reported in drawing from court documents.

After meeting at the apartment, agents followed Sims to a storage unit about a mile away where they found a duffel bag containing a significant number of pills along with a machine designed for drug preparation, according to the report. All told, agents seized 8.4 kilograms of fake Adderall, KSAT reported.

Rodriguez-Rabin was charged with manufacturing and distributing approximately 680 grams of Adderall while Sims is charged with possession with intent to distribute meth. Both remain under federal detention, according to the report.
