🌱 Cool Front En Route ❄️ + Elon Musk's Tunnel Project Shut Down
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Austin.

Hello, neighbors! Good morning. I hope you slept well and weren't up refreshing election results into the wee hours. It's Jessica, your host of the Daily, with the latest and greatest news and community updates hot off the press.
Settle in while we cover:
- Austin agency reimagines the "I Voted" sticker.
- Grab your coats, neighbors — a cool front is in the forecast for this week.
- Kyle city officials put the kibosh on one of Elon Musk's projects.
- Beloved East Austin culinary staple announces its closure.
But first, today's weather:
Very warm with lots of sun. High: 84 Low: 67.
Here are the top stories today in Austin:
1) Looking for the best way to keep up with election results? The Texas Tribune has you covered. "Join Tribune reporters and staff on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Austin or online for a special live edition of TribCast, The Texas Tribune's weekly podcast. Fresh off of Election Day, we'll discuss the results of the midterm elections and what they mean for Texas." Learn how you can attend this event (either in-person or virtually) here.
2) Local creative agency PREACHER re-envisioned the iconic "I Voted" sticker. Many Texans have long been vocal about how inaccessible and difficult voting has become in the last decade. PREACHER partnered with the Texas Civil Rights Project to reimagine the sticker to include "the many layers and laws Texans have to wade through to vote...." Head over to MySA to see photos of the sticker and learn more about this initiative.
3) Who's ready for cooler temps? A cool front is expected to bring "colder than normal November weather beginning Friday and lasting through next week." Weather officials report that we'll continue to see sporadic showers, warm and muggy weather today and tomorrow. Head over to KXAN for the full weather report.
4) Elon Musk's "ambitious" pedestrian tunnel project south of Austin has officially been shut down. Earlier this year, Musk's "Boring Company" (their name — not mine!) received approval from Kyle's City Council for "a $50,000 professional services agreement to take initial steps to conduct a feasibility study for the project." But, The Statesman reports that the project was shut down before the feasibility study could even begin. "That project has proven to not be viable, and the city of Kyle is no longer pursuing it as an option," the city said in a statement. The Statesman has the full scoop on the canceled project.
