Coronavirus: Texas Gov Hints Hair Salons, Stores To Open Soon
As he seeks to restart the state economy even as the illness count grows, Abbott told a radio host of openings coming in the near future.
AUSTIN, TX — Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday hinted that people may soon be able to patronize hair salons and stores as he seeks to gradually reopen the state economy amid the spread of new coronavirus.
The move is based on ensuring Texas' status as the nation's most business-friendly state, the governor told a conservative radio talk show host as reported by the Dallas Morning News.
“We’re going to be making an announcement opening so many different types of businesses, where you’re going to be able to go to a hair salon, go to any type of retail establishment you want to go to, different things like that, with a strucure in place that will ensure that we slow the spread of the coronavirus," Gov. Abbott said during his appearance on “The Chad Hasty Show.”

Hair salons and shopping inside stores could be coming soon. We are working around the clock on safe protocols for both employers and customers. This must be done in ways that prevent the spread of #COVID19. #coronavirus #txlege https://t.co/QWof4XyxkC
