Sponsoring one classroom supports up to 25 children. This provides everything from study materials to warm meals, qualified teachers, school uniforms, emotional support, and a place where kids can actually be kids while learning. Many of them are the first in their families to ever set foot in a classroom.

Inside a School That’s Rewriting the Future

Promise Village Academy is a grassroots school located just outside Lenjani, a remote village in Arusha, northern Tanzania. It was founded to serve children from nearby Maasai communities in a region where formal education is often out of reach.

All Promise Village Academy donations cover the real, everyday costs of running a school in a place where resources are scarce but the need is urgent.

A classroom sponsorship helps provide:

• Teacher salaries, ensuring consistent, quality education from trusted role models.
• Desks, textbooks, writing materials, school uniforms, and all other basic learning tools.
• Two daily nutritious meals and clean drinking water, made possible by a borehole the school drilled in partnership with the Lynn Family Foundation and Water Boys.
• A thriving school farm where students learn practical agricultural skills and contribute to their own meals.
• A growing library and computer lab, sparking students’ curiosity and opening doors to the wider world.

In 2021, the school added four classrooms, bringing the total to 10. The plan is to grow by adding one new grade level each year, with the long-term goal of offering classes through high school.

Promise Village Academy is also investing in the long-term health and development of the entire community. Every initiative is local and sustainable, and 100% of your online donation goes directly to them.

As a sponsor, you’ll receive regular updates from your sponsored class, including photos, letters, and academic progress reports.

There is also the option to visit on a Tanzanian discovery tour, where you can see the school, meet the students, and experience the impact up close.

For those who want to go further, volunteer opportunities are open year-round, across nearly every area of expertise, including education, marketing, nutrition, tech, digital media, and more. We also hold annual fundraising events where educators, celebrities, and other special guests come together for dinner, panel discussions, and exciting live auctions to fund our work.
