Dell Children’s offers help for kids' soccer injuries

Dell Children's expands relationship with Lonestar Soccer Club to connect kids to care

(AUSTIN, Texas) Dell Children’s Medical Center is proud to announce the expansion of its relationship with Lonestar Soccer Club to include increased athletic trainer coverage at multiple locations and an enhanced educational website that serves as a resource for parents.

The website will include information on sports performance, health education, injury prevention and care, “doc talk” instructional videos, athletic training, physical therapy and rehab, orthopedic and clinic information, athletic trainer overviews and more.

“Youth soccer is one of the most popular sports in Central Texas,” said Adam Bauman, Vice President, Orthopedics, Sports and Rehabilitation Services, Ascension Texas. “The expansion of our relationship with Lonestar Soccer Club will both inform parents and children on injury prevention and care as well as connect children and families from injury on the field to expert athletic trainers and immediate care.”

As part of the expansion, Dell Children’s will provide athletic trainer coverage at the following locations and times:

  • Round Rock Multipurpose Complex: Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:30pm
  • West Creek: Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:30pm
  • Williamson County Regional Park: Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:30pm
  • Town & Country: Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:30pm
  • Morrow Street (NAO): Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:30pm
  • Justin Lane: Monday-Thursday, 5:00-9:30pm
  • The Crossover: Monday & Wednesday, 5:00-9:30pm

Dell Children’s is the exclusive medical provider for Lonestar Soccer Club, the largest youth soccer league in Austin and Central Texas. The multi-year alliance includes Ascension Seton athletic trainers and physicians providing medical care at Lonestar Soccer Club practices, games, clinics and tournaments.

Ascension Seton athletic trainers provide guidance including preventing, recognizing and evaluating athletic injuries, in addition to emergency care or first aid for an injured athlete. This collaboration also allows for innovative virtual care for injured athletes.
