Dell Children's expansion adds 72 rooms for acute care
Dell Children's holds ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Fourth Bed Tower

Dell Children’s Medical Center and Ascension leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the new Fourth Bed Tower at Dell Children's. The expansion will provide much-needed acute care capacity on the Dell Children's main campus. The fourth patient tower will add 72 rooms for acute care and allow Dell Children's to serve an additional 1,500 patients each year. The tower will consist of:
- 24 beds for a new Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
- 24 beds for inpatient Oncology/Hematology care
- 24 beds for acute care, including a Simulation Lab
The new bed tower will also allow for the expansion of the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the creation of a Stem Cell Transplant program, and will double the capacity of the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU).
