Here are the top stories in Austin today:

1) South by Southwest (SXSW) 2023 kicks off Friday, and over 250,000 attendees are expected to come through town during the event. With a large event comes crowds, and with crowds comes crowd control. KUT has the rundown on expected road closures in the downtown area and updates on Capital Metro's modified schedule — check it out!

2) U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) committed $93 million over the next 20 years to provide Austin's chronically houseless community with stable housing. This commitment includes 300 housing vouchers, with 100 specifically allocated for homeless veterans. The vouchers are valued at market rate ($1,300/month) and are solely used to pay a portion of a person's rent. The Austin American-Statesman has more on how the city plans to divide the vouchers.

3) The upcoming World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play will be the last in Austin — and maybe the last ever. The tournament director, Jordan Uppleger, confirmed the news yesterday, stating that the Match Play event would not be on the PGA Tour schedule moving forward. The current contract between the PGA Tour and Austin Country Club will expire after this year's event, set for Wednesday, March 22 – Sunday, March 26. KXAN has more on this story here.

4) Austin's Blanton Museum received a massive gift: over 5,000 works by Latino + Chicano artists. The artwork represents one of the largest collections of Latino and Chicano art in the world! Head over to The Texas Standard to learn more.
