Drowning Victim Identified By Travis County Sheriff's Office
Rescuers responded to the Jones Brothers Park swimming area at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday amid reports of a distressed swimmer.
TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — The Travis County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday identified the person who drowned in a swimming area along the northern part of the county on Sunday.
Travis County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Jones Brothers Park swimming area at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday amid reports of a swimmer in distress who submerged under water without resurfacing, the sheriff's office said in an emailed advisory. After futile efforts to find the swimmer, officials added, rescuers switched their mission to one of recovery.
By 1:37 p.m., officials said a body was recovered by Lake Travis Fire and Rescue from depths of between eight to ten feet deep. The drowning victim later was identified as Santos Ervin Cux-Tacatic, 33, of Austin.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office said an investigation into the cause and manner of death is being conducted by their office in conjunction with the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
