Fortune 500: These Texas Companies Make 2020 List
The annual Fortune 500 list ranks the top revenue-generating companies in the United States.

AUSTIN, TX — Fortune Magazine has released its annual list of the 500 top companies in the U.S., and 95 of those companies are based in Texas — including three making the overall top ten list.
Fortune ranks companies by total annual revenue and, for the eighth consecutive year, Walmart topped the 2020 list, followed by Amazon and Exxon Mobil. Apple and CVS Health ranked No. 4 and No. 5, rounding out the top five spots on the list.
To put the rankings in context, the 500 companies on the 2020 list make up two-thirds of the total U.S. gross domestic product.

- No. 27: Phillips 66, Houston, $109 billion
- No. 32: Valero Energy, San Antonio, Texas, $102 billion
- No. 34: Dell Technologies, Round Rock, Texas, $92 billion
- No. 56: Sysco, Houston, $60 billion
- No. 59: Energy Transfer, Dallas, $54 billion
- No. 70: American Airlines Group, Fort Worth, Texas, $45 billion
